Asian markets traded mostly higher in early deals on Friday, bolstered by reports that the US and Iranian negotiators tentatively agreed to extend their ceasefire by 60 days and resumed talks regarding Tehran’s nuclear program. Investor sentiments got boosted by the positive US jobs data and on decline in crude oil rates. Rally in financial, producer manufacturing, and technological sector stocks led gains in the indices. South Korea’s KOSPI marked fresh record highs driven by heavy foreign investments, and robust corporate earnings.
Nikkei surged by 1,689.88 points or 2.61 % to 66,383.00, Straits Times rose by 45.95 points 0.92% to 5,035.14, Hang Seng soared by 265.84 points or 1.05% to 25,272.00, Taiwan weighted kindled by 1,180.22 points or 2.70% to 44,816.66, KOSPI Index soared by 257.22 points or 3.14% to 8,442.51, Jakarta Composite jumped by 89.82 points or 1.47% to 6,220.01 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI index climbed by 5.36 points or 0.32% to 1,690.29
On the flip side, Shanghai Composite dipped by 15.02 points or 0.37% to 4,083.62.
