The agenda may include deliberations on a proposal to introduce intraday derivative position limits, in line with SEBI’s consultation paper released in February 2025. The paper had suggested both intraday and end-of-day limits for index options positions.

Apart from position limits, SMAC may also review additional steps aimed at reducing speculation and enhancing stability in the options segment, sources added.
