Rajiv Anand has assumed charge as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IndusInd Bank, effective Monday (August 25). His appointment, approved by the bank’s Board of Directors, is for a term of three years.

Anand, a seasoned banker with over three decades of experience across asset management, retail, and corporate banking, joins IndusInd at a pivotal juncture.

He previously served at Axis Bank, beginning as the founding MD and CEO of Axis Asset Management Co. Ltd. in 2009.

Over the years, he led key portfolios, including retail banking as President, serving on the board for wholesale banking, and most recently as Deputy Managing Director.

With Anand taking charge, the bank’s ‘Committee of Executives’ and the ‘Oversight Committee of the Board’ have been dissolved.

These committees were previously overseeing the bank’s operations under the guidance of the board.

Sunil Mehta, Chairman of IndusInd Bank, welcomed Anand, stating, “On behalf of the board, I welcome Rajiv Anand as the MD and CEO of the Bank. The board also appreciates the efforts of the Oversight Committee and the Committee of Executives.”
