According to CNBC Awaaz report, the announcements could influence the stock market and selected stocks across multiple sectors.

Semiconductors and critical minerals

PM Modi announced that India’s first indigenous semiconductor chip will be ready by the end of this year, reducing import dependency and potentially lowering costs in electronics, automotive, mobile, and defence sectors.

Companies linked to semiconductor manufacturing, design, and supply chain could benefit. Potentially impacted stocks include Vedanta, Tata Elxsi, Dixon Technologies, Syrma SGS, SPEL Semiconductor, and Moschip Technologies.

The Prime Minister also stated that exploration for critical minerals is underway at over 1,200 sites, with a National Exploration Mission planned. The Lok Sabha recently passed the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025, aimed at boosting critical mineral supply and state revenues.

Nuclear energy expansion

India plans to increase nuclear power generation capacity tenfold over the next 20 years, with work underway on 10 new nuclear reactors.

Beneficiaries could include EPC contractors, turbine and reactor equipment suppliers, and uranium mining companies such as Larsen & Toubro, BHEL, Hindustan Aeronautics, Hindustan Copper, NMDC, and MOIL.

GST reforms

Next-generation GST reforms are expected around Diwali, potentially reducing taxes on essential goods and benefiting MSMEs and consumers. FMCG, retail, auto, and consumer durables sectors could see demand growth.

Economic growth task force

A special reform task force will work to accelerate economic growth, improve governance, and reduce red tape, targeting a $10 trillion economy by 2047.

Infrastructure, digital services, banking, and logistics sectors may gain.

PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana

This ₹1 lakh crore scheme aims to benefit 30 million youth by providing ₹15,000 per month to new jobholders. Increased employment could boost consumer spending in auto, real estate, banking, and FMCG sectors.

High-powered demography mission

The mission will address demographic imbalances in border areas caused by infiltration and illegal migration, with the objective of protecting national unity and citizens’ rights.

Energy self-reliance

A National Deepwater Exploration Mission will focus on reducing energy imports, alongside expansion in solar, hydrogen, hydro, and nuclear power. Oil & gas and renewable energy companies could benefit.

Made-in-India jet engines
