Asian markets traded mostly higher in early deals on Thursday, driven by the strong rally in technology and semiconductor shares followed by blowout earnings from Micron Technology. Global crude oil prices tumbled significantly stranded oil as tankers safely exited the Strait of Hormuz, boosting investor sentiments. South Korea’s KOSPI soared the most among Asian indices with easing concerns for import-dependent economies.Â
Nikkei soared by 2,845.03 points or 4.11% to 72,020.00, Taiwan weighted added by 330.43 points or 0.72% to 46,374.03, KOSPI Index surged by 478.30 points or 5.65% to 8,949.32, Jakarta Composite lifted by 100.02 points or 1.70% to 5,983.90, and Shanghai Composite jumped by 14.95 points or 0.36% to 4,125.76.
On the flip side, Hang Seng down by 294.18 points or 1.27% to 23,118.00, Straits Times slipped by 1.43 points 0.03% to 5,214.56, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI index dipped by 6.42 points or 0.38% to 1,675.71.
